This Old House:
Lead Based Paint Law in an Era of Regulatory Change
This will be a one-hour substantive course for attorneys. Decades after it was banned for residential use, lead-based paint still remains an issue for homeowners, landlords, and poses serious health risks for families with young children. This is especially true in Philadelphia, which has some of the oldest housing stock in the country. Lead-based paint is subject to a myriad of federal, state and local regulations that can be difficult to navigate. This course will provide attendees with a working knowledge of HUD and EPA regulations, as well as the changing lead paint legislation in Philadelphia. The course will focus on notice and disclosure requirements for sellers and landlords, notifications of Elevated Blood Lead Levels in children, and how to establish an ongoing lead paint maintenance program as a bulwark against future liability
