Talking Turkey Thanksgiving Luncheon Shines a Light on All that their PHA Elders Do For The Communities
PHA’s elders give back so much to the authority’s 20 senior housing communities. Recently, they gathered for a Thanksgiving luncheon including turkey, gravy, and all the trimmings. Students from the Middle Years Alternative School volunteered to serve the meals, as part of a community engagement exercise.

Thanksgiving Luncheon Shines a Light on All that their PHA Elders Do For The Communities
What: |
The Philadelphia Housing Authority (PHA) will host a festive Thanksgiving luncheon to celebrate with the PHA elders who contribute so much to the quality of community life at the agency’s 19 senior housing sites and the surrounding communities. The menu will include turkey w/ gravy, collard greens, stuffing, mac& cheese, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, iced tea and assorted pies. This year, the PHA elders engaged in voter education campaigns in their neighborhoods, participated in health fairs, decorated their buildings, and held gatherings to bring together tenants for fellowship. |
Who: |
PHA seniors living in PHA apartment communities are invited to attend. |
Visuals | A DJ will spin the tunes as seniors will dance, which is one of their favorite forms of exercise and fitness. |
