The Philadelphia Housing Authority, America's fourth largest public housing authority and a leader in residential development and property management, is seeking an Accountant. This is accounting work supervising the maintenance of accounting records and reports and the determination of methods of handling more complex entries and the preperation of comprehensive financial statements and reports. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior. Assignments are evaluative in nature and are performed in accordance with standard accounting practices and general work instructions. Employees in this class provide interpretive and consultive accounting services for use by higher level administrators in taking important action. Work may include assigning work to subordinate personnel and supervising those assigned.
Requires Bachelors' Degree with major course work in Accounting.
Also, two to four years of accounting experience which has involved recording financial transactions in both subsidiary and general ledgers and the preperation of financial reports from these ledgers.
Philadelphia residency will be required.
