Technical Aides (Management Trainees)

The Philadelphia Housing Authority, America’s fourth largest housing authority and a leader in real estate development and residential property management is seeking to add entry-level management trainees to its Technical Aide program. The Technical Aide Program was designed by P.H.A. to provide college graduates with exposure to the operations of a large public housing authority and to provide the authority with an experienced group of talented individuals to consider for future professional or management roles within P.H.A. The goal of the program is for candidates to rotate through several departments, mainly in Operations and Development, to gain enough knowledge to participate in a professional or management capacity of a P.H.A. Program or site. 
 
The Technical Aide will participate in a series of rotational training modules; this position applies newly acquired skills to specific work assignments and performs related work as required. Technical Aides will have an opportunity to learn Site and Program Management which require the necessary knowledge of: compliance, finance/budgeting (site-based budgeting), occupancy, eligibility, rent calculation, maintenance, management, recertification, inspections, and property management, etc. Along with exposure to the planning, administering, monitoring, evaluating, analyzing and designing strategic housing initiatives, as well as capital improvement, and quality of life projects or programs. Targeted completion positions may include but are not limited to, Project Management Coordinator, Planner, Project Assistant, Architect, Asset Manager and/or Accountant.
 
Qualified candidates require a BS/BA with one of the following majors: Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Commerce & Engineering, Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Operations, Construction Management or Real Estate. Ideal candidates will be recent graduates with one (1) to two (2) years of professional experience. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office.
 
Philadelphia city residency will be required.
