Student Interns
DUTIES:
The Philadelphia Housing Authority, a leading property management organization in public housing, is looking for qualified student interns for temporary summer positions in a variety of housing operations such as Accounting, Human Resources, Information Systems, Inventory Control, Legal, Operations, Public Relations and other related departments. A Student Intern is assigned entry-level administrative work designed to develop analytical and technical skills necessary for performing administrative management and operational analysis. Assignments will vary in nature and increase in difficulty as the student gains experience. Duties include studying structure and operating practices and procedures of public housing programs; observing and assisting departmental administrators in the performance of projects and tasks; assisting in the preparation of various reports; obtaining and analyzing data; performing data entry; and performing general office duties as required.
Qualified candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate-level degree program at an accredited college or university at the time of appointment and tenure. Majors in Business, Computer Science, Government, Law, Public Administration, and Public Relations along with work experience in any of these areas are preferred. Requirements also include the ability to communicate and present ideas clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and officials of other agencies; and possess excellent computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
Philadelphia residency required.
