PHA provides safe and decent affordable housing for low-income
residents in Philadelphia. We offer two main housing programs: the
Housing Choice Voucher Program and Public Housing.
The Housing Choice Voucher Program is a
rental assistance program. HCV residents rent directly from private
landlords and their rental payments are subsidized through the
voucher program. The HCV waitlist is currently closed to new
applicants.
Public housing is rental properties
managed and maintained by the housing authority. PHA acts as the
landlord. To apply for public housing, click here for Admissions.
PHA's inventory also includes accessible housing for persons
with disabilities. For more information, please see Accessible Housing.
No matter where you live, however, PHA offers a range of
supportive services so that residents can achieve the best quality
of life. For more information, please see Resident Services.
If you are having trouble paying rent due to financial hardship,
please contact your manager immediately to discuss your situation
